The summer break was turning into a rather nice success. Avery was able to lay by the family pool in the bikinis she had wanted to wear all year. There was no stress for competition, no annoying brother on a daily basis. Although she did miss her other brother Ev a bit. It wasn’t really the same back home without him to even out the annoyance of Blaine and his perfect-ness. On top of the crazy family she was surrounded with she missed her boyfriend terribly. It felt so empty in her bed, when he didn’t have his arms wrapped around her. She even missed the wake up kisses that made her awake in all smiles. Caleb was on her mind twenty four seven and it was a miracle when he parents were to be gone for the weekend. It opened up a window of opportunity to spend some alone time with her favorite cowboy, and after some pushing with her parents they finally said yes. The tiny brunette was ecstatic as she packed her things for the fun loving weekend. Even packing a few of her favorite bikinis, just for her cowboy. Hopefully Caleb had a ton of things planned for the two lovebirds, because this summer was supposed to be filled with love and adventure! Speaking of love, that was something Avery had been toying around with all break. It had become more difficult to keep the word to herself instead of sharing it with the one who deserved all of her’s. The thing holding her back was Caleb’s reaction. What if he rejected it? What if it was too much and would scare him away? So many thoughts ran through her tiny head as she packed the rest of her things.Once she was done, Avery had to find a way to get to Caleb’s home. Her parents were out for dinner with Blaine and Ev was unfortunately at school. So she was out of luck on a car, but thankfully she knew one guy who couldn’t say no. It was the very same boy that she had spent a few days with at her own estate. He was a family friend by the name of Jason, a tall brunette that was a few years older than Avery. They had been close in their younger years when Avery and Blaine’s relationship was like the cliche statement, ‘two peas in a pod’. Jason was a gentlemen similar to that of her own Caleb, as well as having an adorable sense of humor. The brunette called up the boy and in a matter of minutes he arrived ready to give Avery a ride to her boyfriend’s home. Wearing shorts and a flowy native tank top, she hopped into the car and told Jason the address, Caleb had previously given her. The car ride itself was a bit quite, and the tall male seemed to turn up an unfamilar charm. Avery was simply oblivious and took it as nothing, but a game. To her, the boy was still the same kid that played around with her at the sandbox. It wasn’t until he placed his hand on Avery’s that made her snatch her hand away from him. “Jason, you know we’re not like that? I have a boyfriend that I’m in love with and I don’t feel that way towards you.” The boy seemed to not get the wide hint, because he continued to sweet talk her using words like ‘baby’ and ‘sweetheart’. His hand reaching towards her asking her to stay. Before she could answer they finally reached the house. Avery pratically jumped out of the car with her things and ran to the door. Breathing a little on the heavy side, she racked her finger through her brown hair before her finger finally pushed the doorbell.
The waiting felt like an eternity as she could still feel Jason’s eyes on her. Finally the door opened to the one person she couldn’t wait to he held by. A bright smile appeared on her face beaming with love at the blonde’s similar smile. She instantly wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly hoping that Jason would see the deep relationship her and Caleb had shared. Behind her the sound of a car driving off gave her the sign to let go and relax a bit more. She placed her hand in his as he pulled her gently into his home. As soon as the door closed Caleb covered her lips in kisses making a giggle escape her lips. “I missed you way more mister! It just isn’t the same without waking up to you every morning.” A brighter smile appeared on her lips as she continued to kiss him. Avery felt it would be best not to mention the car mishap to cause unneeded drama. Afterall this was supposed to be the best weekend ever. Right?
Caleb opened the door to greet Avery with a huge grin on his face, and she immediately threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. Telling her he missed her, he squeezed his arms around her for a little while, before taking her by the hand and bringing her into the house, in the background the roar of a car’s engine as it sped off could be heard and it almost seemed like Avery relaxed a little bit at the sound of it. Once the door was closed and they were standing in the entry way he began to leave small kisses on her lips, just small rapid pecks which made her giggle. “I know, I just can’t get a good night’s sleep without you around anymore. But that’s what this weekend’s for.” Well, it might be for a little more than that, with thoughts of telling Avery he loved her still swimming around in his head. Avery deepened their kiss, and he responded by snaking his arms back around her again and pulling her in close. He’d missed the feel of her body pressing into his, it was really amazing how he’d come to crave it, practically need it, after just a few short weeks of dating. As his hands came to rest in the small of her back, his tongue brushed languidly across her bottom lip with a swipe, begging to break the threshold of her mouth. She granted access, and as usual their tongues wrestled for dominance.
The greeting left them a bit breathless, and as they finally broke he stroked her hair and after picking up her bag for her led her into the Pierce family living room. “Come on in this way, Avey. Dinner’s just about ready, and we can catch up a little first.” They sat down on the couch, still holding hands and their fingers laced together as always. After spending most of the last week apart, it seemed that both the lovebirds were eager for a little contact. Caleb looked into those beautiful chocolate brown eyes of hers and couldn’t help but grin, he had missed them so much and wasn’t going to stop himself from enjoying every second they had together this weekend. “So how’s my girl been doing since she escaped? Having lots of fun?” Using his hand with fingers that were threaded with hers, he began to trace circles slowly on her palm with his thumb, listening to her talk about her experiences on the summer break. He could listen to her talk for hours, her voice was soothing to him and kept the smile on his face the whole time.
Just a couple of minutes into their conversation, the oven timer rang. Caleb hated to let go of her hand, but jumped up to attend to their dinner. “Sorry sweetie, this’ll just take a sec, promise!” He walked over to the kitchen area, at least the house was open concept and it wasn’t as if he had to go into another room entirely. Using a pair of oven mitts Caleb opened the door and pulled out the homemade pizza he’d whipped up, setting the tray on top of the stove and turning it off. When he picked it up again to set it down on the kitchen island, he got a bit of a startle as Avery was sitting right there on the other side of the island with a smirk on her face at catching him by surprise. Grinning, he tried to mask his surprise but just for a second. “Whoa Avey! Guess I’m gonna have to keep my eye on you at all times aren’t I?” Upon setting the tray down to let the pepperoni pizza cool a little, he leaned across the island to kiss her again. Smiling into it, he then pulled back a little, “Sorry, guess I just can’t help myself tonight. I’m just so happy you’re here.”
