The tiny brunette was in all smiles the entire night. There was not a moment that one could call her emotions sad or angry, it was all pure bliss. She sat in his arms safe and comfortable, never wanting to leave. The two enjoyed a wonderful pizza that Caleb had prepared and it was difficult to put down it was so good. After eating, Avery continued to be cuddled up in his embrace. It started getting a bit more interesting when he whispered in her ear with his warm breath licking her neck and ear. Of course the girl had to be a little witty in her response to match his rather sexy tone. She felt his arms pull her tighter with his silly response. A response was about to come through her lips until she felt kisses showering her earlobe. It made so much sense that he would be thinking about pizza… Avery wasn’t that stupid. Alright I’ll play your game Pierce.Avery shifted her body, so that her face was inches from the blonde’s eyes. A light giggle left her lips before she brought their faces together. Her lips craved his taste and by the way he was enjoying himself, he too seemed to love the interaction. Usually the brown eyed sweetheart would tangle her fingers in his blonde hair, but not this time to her surprise. It was Caleb who started the interaction running his large hands through her soft curls. This interaction caused Avery to smile into the kiss as it deepened. Soon his hands found her neck and her hands found his waist. It was hard to control herself from placing her hands on his bare abs. Unfortunately his clothes were a bit of an annoying barrier. Snap out of it. How could that be on your mind right now?! The two hadn’t even been together that long and that was already playing on her thought at the moment. They hadn’t even told each other the three words that would seal the deal on their feeling for each other. ‘I love you.’ That was step number one, then they would figure the rest out together. The brunette was ready to say them, but not until she knew that he was ready for the same words. This thought drove her nuts with insanity, because she wanted to get lost in his blue eyes and tell him how she really felt. Why did these things have to be so complicated, why was love such a complicated topic. These thoughts danced around in Avery’s head until the topic of air seemed of the utmost importance.
Simultaneously, they released from one another. Caleb had asked if they wanted to watch the stars together outside. The idea brought a sparkle of excitement in her eyes as she loved to look up and watch stars. She quickly jumped off the couch and stood up with a bright smile across her lips. “Can we!? I would love to lay and watch the stars. Especially with someone as wonderful as you, cowboy.” The excitement that she appeared to be portraying was similar to that of a a five year old walking into a Disney park for the first time. The mood itself was most likely going to be something magical and Avery didn’t want to waste a minute. She held out her hand for him to take. As soon as he hand was placed in her tiny one, she laced them together smiling brightly. “I love sharing moments like these with you.” She dropped the word ‘love’ twice hoping he too would get the hint. One of them was bound to say it, but who would that one be?
If Caleb had his wish, he’d be able to stay like this, with her and he lounging around on the couch for the rest of their break. He didn’t need anything else, he didn’t want anything else, this was it for him. Avery and he were perfect for one another, he believed this with his entire heart. And ever since she’d arrived, Caleb was fighting the urge to say what he felt to her and officially declare his love. Because that’s definitely what this was, there was no way around it now. And the fact that even outside the walls of the boarding school they were just as playful and just as affectionate towards one another, it meant this wasn’t simply a product of being cooped up together. It was real, and Caleb felt it fully. He kept his fingers crossed that she did too, and that it wasn’t too soon to admit this to his wonderful girlfriend. After dinner it wasn’t long before they were kissing again, showing affection had never been a problem between the cowboy and his Avey.
She seemed to like the idea of laying out under the stars and the night sky, taking no time to leap off the couch and stand up. A smile playing on his lips as he rose up to meet her, she admitted that she’d love to be outside and called him her cowboy once again. That was something he never got tired of hearing, he’d always be her cowboy if Caleb had anything to say about it. She was really getting excited about the idea, and he couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Okay, okay, let me just grab a blanket then.” He pulled a big quilt out of the linen closet and tucked it under his arm, returning to Avery and taking her by the hand to go outside. They stepped through the door out to the backyard patio, which was lit up with more than a dozen lights around the area, shining almost like candles. Walking together with her, Caleb walked into the middle of the backyard where he spread out the quilt on the ground. Helping Avery settle to the ground, Caleb quickly joined her and laid flat on his back to look right up at the sky, with Avery cuddling in next to him. His arm wrapped around her tiny frame, Caleb sighed with delight. “I’m just so happy you’re here, Avey. I’m happy we can share something like this.” Lacing their fingers again, he began to run his free hand through her hair again, smiling. It was on the tip of his tongue, there was no better time to tell Avery how he felt about her, truly how he felt. The stars and the dark night sky were making it impossible to resist blurting it out, and really this whole weekend had been about spending as much time together as possible…
Rolling onto his side to meet Avery face to face, a big grin crossing his lips, Caleb leaned his forehead in to meet hers gently. Speaking in a hushed tone, almost so that she was the only one who could hear him in the whole world, he finally uttered the words he’d been feeling for quite a while now.
